Setting up MTL Kiosk minix computers for TVs

Setting up MTL Kiosk (minix computers) for TVs 

These computers come with Windows 10 or 11 installed and licensed. They just need to have a “kiosk” user set up.  They do not need to be joined to the domain 

  1. Create a user called Kiosk and name the computer ClubnameKiosk (IE TSSKiosk) 

  1. Set the password to Bluepass5 

  1. Do not have it set to change upon loginb  

  1. Install Chrome and set it as the default browser 

  1. Configure Chrome to open up mtlkiosk.com/clubname when it starts up 

  1. Open up the settings menu, click “On Startup” and then change the URL.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. It should open up like the image above when launched. 

  1. Configure Chrome to open up in Full Screen mode when launched 

  1. Configure chrome to run upon login/startup (just add it to startup programs) 

  1. Set the active hour times for windows updates from: 7am-7pm 

  1. Configure the sleep settings on Windows to never go to sleep  

  1. Perform all Windows updates 

  1. After all updates have been completed, run the Check for Updates and verify there aren’t any additional updates left 

  1. Go to Display Settings and change the display orientation from landscape to portrait.  The TV’s for the kiosk are mounted vertically.  

 

 

How to pull up on-screen keyboard in case remote desktop software isn’t installed and we have to walk the user through the steps.
